After 23 years in the education field, Kimberly Baker felt the calling to change careers, and went to Virginia Commonwealth University for a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. Kim approaches theory from an integrative and systemic perspective with a person-centered foundation that integrates attachment theory, mindfulness, communication stances, and trauma-informed care.  She prefers an integrative approach because not all clients respond to a singular theory, and it is important to meet the clients’ needs where they are.

While she is dedicated to all forms of mental health, Kimberly has a special interest in trauma, anxiety, and depression. She welcomes clients with diverse racial, cultural, and sexual identities, and works with individuals from age 5 through adulthood as well as couples and families to support mental health needs in a safe, nonjudgmental place.
