What is PRP?

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) is a free rehabilitation treatment program for Medicaid recipients with chronic mental illness that is based on the recovery and person-centered models of rehabilitation. Only individuals with Medicaid are eligible to sign up for PRP.  The services offered are valued at $1000, but free for Medicaid clients.

Individuals are provided skills and support to embrace their mental wellness, to enhance the quality of their life, and to pursue personally valued roles in their living, learning, work and social environments. The purpose of the program is to promote recovery, resiliency, and empowerment of the individual so that they may function successfully and live as independently as possible in the community of their choice.

How to Qualify for PRP

Only Medicaid recipients are eligible to receive PRP services. Children automatically qualify for PRP. However, in order for adults to qualify for Adult PRP services, they have to have a specific diagnosis. Most adults who qualify for the Adult PRP Program, experience major depression or extreme mood regulations that fluctuate from feeling low to feeling high (Bi-polar). They also may experience erratic mood (Borderline Personality Disorder), or hear or see things that are not there (Schizophrenia).

Qualifying questions you might be asked are... have you been experiencing extreme depression? Or have you been swings of feeling depressed, then feeling normal? (Bi-polar). Have you been having erratic moods? (Borderline Personality Disorder) , or hearing or seeing things that are not there (Schizophrenia). If you have Medicaid and have answered “yes” to any of these questions, you are most likely eligible to receive PRP services. Please contact us to schedule an appointment.

You must attend three therapy sessions per month to participate in the program. If you are already a client of ours and you have Medicaid, we can help you figure out if you meet the eligibility requirements for PRP. If you want to become a client of ours and think you meet the requirements for PRP, give us a call at 1-800-994-5403 or email us at admin@larteywellness.com.
