Clinician Biography

Ann-Marie Timothy is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor. She is a graduate of Washington Adventist University, where she received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She also holds a Master’s degree in Teaching with a focus on Special Education.

With a teaching career spanning over 25 years, Ann-Marie has dedicated more than a decade of her career to working with students with special needs and their families. This experience highlighted the critical need for not only academic support but also mental health support, inspiring her to pursue a career in counseling. She uses a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and person-centered therapy.

She views therapy as a collaborative process between the client and therapist, emphasizing the importance of an open, trusting, and supportive environment. Her primary goal is to empower clients to take ownership of their mental well-being, fostering meaningful and lasting change.
