Clinician Biography
My name is Sindhura, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University. My interest in counseling comes from a curiosity about people and their stories. This includes what shapes their choices, how they see themselves, how they make sense of life’s challenges, and the ways they navigate through them. This perspective guides me in creating a collaborative, nonjudgmental space for individuals experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem struggles, mood disorders, grief, and multicultural concerns. A quote that continues to inspire me is from Plutarch: “What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality.” These words remind me of how self-discovery and growth can lead to resilience, healing, and change.
I use an integrative approach tailored to each individual, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. My multicultural background as a South Asian woman who has lived in India, Japan, and the United States shapes the way I connect with clients and understand their perspectives. I value building a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe to lead the process, reflect on their experiences, and take steps toward creating a life that feels authentic and fulfilling to them.
