Clinician Biography
I am a licensed therapist with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and my journey into this field has been deeply influenced by my identity and experiences as both an immigrant and a Black woman. My practice is rooted in the belief that every person deserves to feel safe, seen, heard, and supported, no matter where they come from or what challenges they may face. I also bring a unique and holistic perspective, drawing from both my professional training and my lived experience of resilience, adaptation, and cultural diversity.
As an immigrant, I know firsthand the complexities of adapting to new environments, navigating cultural differences, and balancing multiple identities. These experiences allow me to connect with my clients on a deeper level, offering empathy, compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to creating a safe therapeutic space where people can explore their emotions and embrace their growth. I am particularly passionate about creating safe spaces for people from marginalized backgrounds, where stories of identity, transition, and belonging can be explored with care.
Outside of my professional work, I cherish the time I spend with my daughter whether at home or on new adventures together. Being a mother is one of my greatest joys and keeps me grounded and inspired in my work. I also love traveling, discovering new places, and meeting new people. For me, these experiences reflect the same spirit of curiosity and openness that I bring into my therapy sessions. Each person and culture holds a story worth listening to and learning from.
Through my personal journey and professional practice, I am passionate about fostering resilience, healing, and self-discovery in those I work with. Whether supporting individuals through life transitions, processing struggles, or celebrating successes, I strive to walk alongside my clients as they create lives of greater meaning, balance, and fulfillment.
